Ward Annual Fund
Our annual fund dolphin is swimming along and making his way toward the halfway mark of our Annual Fund goal. Thanks to all of our generous donors. Remember - no amount is too small and we appreciate the contributions of all community members.

Ward & Underwood Buildings Meeting
Join Superintendent Dr. Fleishman along with school committee members, city councilors and district and city leaders for a community meeting to discuss the phases of the Ward/Underwood buildings planning process and how you might be involved. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 30 at 7:00 p.m. over Zoom.

NPS Gift Giving Policy
Room parents will be reaching out in the coming week to share details for giving gifts during the holiday season. More details on the state-wide policies can be found here. (https://www.newton.k12.ma.us/cms/lib/MA01907692/Centricity/Domain/1063/15.05.27%20Gift%20and%20Solicitations%20Policy%20.pdf)
Policy highlights include:
1. Gifts of commercial value must be presented from the entire class - no individual gifts.
2. Gifts may not exceed a value of $150/year (academic year, not calendar year).
3. Individual gifts in the form of sentimental tokens are allowed.
4. This policy does not include gifts for the classroom (if interested in further regulation on gifts for the classroom, please see the NPS Equity Policy).
Ward Cares
Are you ready for winter? If your child(ren) is in need of any winter gear (jacket, snow pants, hats, gloves) and it is hard for you to acquire right now, Ward Cares may be able to help. Email the information on what you need and in what sizes to Keren at keren.wainger@gmail.com

Vaccines for 5-11 year olds
Children 5 to 11 years old are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending the pediatric Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. For more information, including information on local clinics, please visit the Newton Health and Human Services website or speak with your child’s pediatrician or healthcare provider. Find a vaccine appointment at vaxfinder.mass.gov.
Opportunity for Children Ages 4-7 with the BU Learning Lab
BU Doctoral students are working on research for their dissertations and would love for you and your children to be involved! For this work, we will play two quick (10-15 minute) STEM games with your child online. In return, you will receive a $15 Amazon gift card. If you have any questions, please email learnlab@bu.edu. The Newton North High School Science Team is a club that participates in science and engineering competitions. We are currently offering our leaf raking services as a FUNDRAISER for our competition fees and supplies.
