From the Co-Presidents:

Happy November! This month, we want to express our gratitude for this wonderful Ward community. We are truly thankful to be part of this school. As you can see, our PTO calendar is less packed these days! The beginning of the school year was an exciting whirlwind of activities and fantastic events and we appreciate all of you for making the start of our year so fun and successful.

The Ward Fun Run was such a huge success. We raised $13,020 - more than 100% of our $13,000 goal! Incredible!!! We are so proud of our school and grateful that these funds will completely cover our CAS program. Be on the lookout for information about how our whole school pajama day in celebration of reaching our goal of registering at least 80% of students. Thank you, everyone, for making this community event and fundraiser so successful. Special thanks to Penny Ismay and Lexi Sullivan for their tremendous work in bringing the Fun Run to Ward for the last three years.

The Ward Garden Committee hosted two events last week. On Wednesday, Heba Haddad and Hélène Perennes Parot planted daffodil bulbs with the 5th graders. Look out for these bright yellow flowers when they bloom in the Spring! On Friday, Elizabeth Weinberg and Aleksandra Lamont invited kindergartners to visit the garden for the cherished 14th annual Garlic Day at Ward where they planted garlic cloves. Please note that the garlic bed is for educational use only, please do not harvest from it! Next week the 1st graders will receive their bulbs of garlic from the cloves they had planted last fall!

We hope you have a fantastic week. As always, please email us anytime at copresidents@wardpto.org with your ideas, questions, concerns, or ways we can help.
